Xmas Card Challenge 2017!

A;; Town's Schools enter Competition...

All the Town’s Primary Schools have joined in a Christmas Card Competition this term and the designs, displayed in The Orchards from the last week in October, will be judged and the winners announced at an Award Ceremony set for Monday 20th November.

Children from St. Joseph’s, St.  Wilfrid’s, Warden Park Primary, Harlands, Northlands Wood and Bolnore are all hard at work designing their perfect Christmas ‘Greetings’ within three categories: Early Years (ages four and five), Key Stage One (ages five to seven) and Key Stage Two (ages eight to 11).  And to thank them for all their hard work and creativity, Orchards’ Manager Nicola Bird is donating high street vouchers worth £25 and £10 to the winners and runners-up from each category.

M&S Manager, Jan Hunford, and Ward Councillor, Jonathan Ash-Edwards, will be in the Orchards in the week beginning 7th November to judge the entries – and, more importantly, of course, hand out awards and prizes on the 20th at 12.30 pm.

Orchards Manager Nicola Bird says: “I do so love Christmas and our traditional Christmas Card Competition is just the best way ever to begin our Town’s festive season.  There’s all the excitement of the Awards, followed by Santa Claus arriving the next weekend to help switch on the Town’s Christmas Lights – oh, but I just can’t wait!”
